Everything You Need to Know About the Herman Miller Aeron Chair – A Review

Herman Miller's Classic Aeron Chair is considered by many to be the classic ergonomic chair.

So, first off the bat I should mention that I’ve had personal experience, a lot of personal experience, with the Herman Miller Aeron chair, and I think it’s a great chair. There are three sizes. There’s A, B, and C. C’s the largest and A’s the smallest. It’s really important to get the right size for yourself because the size relates to the depth of the seat. And if you don’t get the right size, then you can actually place a lot of pressure just underneath your thighs. Because in the front of the Aeron seat, below the mesh, there’s like a foam crescent-shaped insert. And if you do get the wrong size for what your actual needs are and what the chart says, then the foam crescent can apply a lot of pressure on your thighs. But if you do get the right size, it’s really, really comfortable. So just have a look at the sizing chart to ensure you get the correct type. There are two options in terms of the lumbar support. If you go with the basic chair, which is around $679, it comes with an adjustable lumbar pillow. It’s not particularly adjustable; it can move vertically up or down 4 inches and can be removed or reversed. But if you get it wrong, it can actually be quite uncomfortable. I went with the posture-fit. There’s a special posture-fit support mechanism and this posture-fit provides really optimal support for the natural curve of your spine which means that it’s definitely, if you do have problems on the lumbar region, it’s definitely more advisable than the lumbar pillow of the basic method. Although the lumbar pillow has been official, if you don’t have any problems or you’re not sitting for too long in that position, just like all of his other Herman Miller furniture, Mirra chairs and so on, it’s again highly, highly customizable. You can decide what color, almost any imaginable color you want. You can go for the graphite model which has a Graphite frame and a Graphite base. You can choose a Titanium base, which has a smoke-colored frame or you could go for a polished Aluminum base that comes with a Graphite frame. For me, it’s a fantastic chair because of the adjustability of it. I can’t recommend highly enough actually. You’ve just got to get the sizing correct. There are charts for that.
