Stealcase Leap Chair

Stealcase Leap Chair Model

The Steelcase Leap Chair ranks up their with Herman Miller’s classic Aeron chair as one of the most popular ergonomic office chairs.  I love this chair because it has all the essential ergonomic tools that you are looking for in a chair typically, and it has this sleek modern design that looks great in a variety of office and home environments.

The Leap LiveBack Technology

The Leap LiveBack technology actually changes shape to support the movements of your spine. It actually mimics the way you sit in the chair and it does this using upper and lower back force mechanisms that are completely adjustable. The upper back support mechanism actually allows you to adjust the amount of force you need when you go to push back so you can push back easily while still getting the support and comfort you expect from an ergonomic chair. The lower back firmness mechanism  allows you to change the firmness of the lumbar region so once you have it set where you need it to go it will actually follow the shape of your lumbar and give it the support you need and the comfort that you expect.

The Leap Chair Armrests

Next lets go ahead and move onto the arm rest, which is one of the best features in this chair. We all love them here in the office because you can glide them back and forth very easily and can pivot them in and out to accommodate any task at hand; they also push forward and back, which is great when you want to scoot up to your desk because they don’t get in the way. Of course, they also raise and lower very easily.

The Leap Chair Seat Itself

The third part I wanted to talk about on the leap chair is the actual seat itself.  The seat has two really unique features that they built into the Leap chair’s design. The first is the natural glide feature, which glides forward and back with you depending on whether you’re leaning back or sitting up straight. This is a very comfortable motion that comes very naturally, and there’s nothing awkward or unusual about it. The second feature that is great on this chair is the flexible seat edge. This is very convenient because it doesn’t cut off the circulation in your legs which can be a huge problem down the road. You’ve also got an excellent backstop adjustment on this chair, which comes with five different levels. You can go from completely upright to all the way back, whatever meets your needs. And, of course, the Leap chair also provides the manual pneumatic seat height adjustment that comes standard on any office chair.

Seat Depth Mechanism on the Leap Chair

You can also quickly and easily adjust the seat depth of your chair, there’s a mechanism on the left hand side and all you need to do is lift up on the mechanism and you can glide forward or back and get that seat up to where you need it to be, where you are sitting comfortably, and you have between a fist and two fingers (whatever you prefer), a little bit of distance between the back of your legs and the front of your seat.

The Leap Chair’s Beautiful Design

Okay, now we are going to talk about the design features of this chair, the best part. You can actually get this chair in a variety of styles: you can get it with a headrest, you can get the back with a 3D knit mesh material, you can also get it with fabric or leather options, and with the seat you can do fabric or leather upholstery. For frame options you can either choose from a black, silver, or polished aluminum frame, and you’ve also got the option to get softer hard casters on the chair.

If you’re looking for an extremely comfortable, highly adjustable, aesthetically appealing chair, then the Steelcase Leap Chair is perfect for you.
